Christopher Ede-Calton serves as Senior Advisor for Climate Change & Foreign Policy for the Rainey Center. In this capacity he works with senior leadership on issues related to intersection of climate change & foreign policy.
In addition to his role as Special Advisor, Christopher is an Engagement Manager for the World Resources Institute, and was formerly Special Advisor to H.E. Amb. Stuart Beck at the Mission of Palau to the United Nations. In these roles he’s worked leading political outreach in 21 countries, managing a network of country embassies, supporting the U.S. China Track II Dialogue on Energy, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development, supporting a coalition of companies seeking to strengthen their public climate commitment, and with Palau assessing the feasibility of creating a large marine protected area. Christopher has also led at the municipal level as an elected Commissioner in Washington D.C.
Christopher currently resides in D.C. with his amazing wife Laura, and enjoys cold weather camping, cycling, craft cocktails, and thinking about getting a puppy.
