The Leadership Alliance for a More Perfect Union (LAMP) is the flagship leadership development program for the Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy. LAMP programs foster engagement and promote dialogue between state policymakers and a diverse group of experts from a wide variety of disciplines, including private-sector corporate leaders, high-level government officials, and members of the academic community.


LAMP also provides opportunities that equip our policymakers and partners with the tools, information and networking platforms needed to increase their effectiveness and strengthen their leadership skills as a core component of its mission.


The Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy is a 501 (c)3 public policy research organization and leadership community founded on the values of equality, freedom, and a more perfect union. Named for Congressman Joseph Rainey, who was born enslaved and became the first Black American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Rainey Center fosters dialogue on actionable solutions to America’s challenges as well as empowers women, minorities, and mavericks in public policymaking.
