Garrison on MSNBC, party disputes in Congress are a “generational divide”

By Jacqueline Isaacs

Rainey Center co-founder and president, Bishop Garrison, appeared on MSNBC over the weekend to discuss the inter-party disputes happening within both the Republican and Democrat parties right now.

In response to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent accusation that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is “silencing” women of color, Garrison argued this is a “generational divide.” He said,

We have strong, active women of color that are finally able to truly voice their opinions on the national stage. I am all for it. I think it is healthy within... this country, to have these types of debates and discussions. The way it’s unfolding, there are some issues there that I would like to see this handled maybe a little bit more behind closed doors, but that doesn’t negate the fact that it is an important discussion that is happening between generations of leaders and we need to see more of it.
