Garrison in Politico, “the devil is always in the details” of foreign policy

By Jacqueline Isaacs

Bishop Garrison, Rainey Center co-founder and president, was quoted in a recent in a Politico article by Bill Scher, contributing editor to Politico Magazine, analyzing the foreign policy of some of the candidates in the heated Democratic Presidential primary race.

The article outlines what Bernie Sanders foreign policy might be, and Garrison warns that “the devil is always in the details.”

In response to Sanders’ desire to start a global progressive movement that brings people together, Garrison responded that “one could argue you’re talking about interfering with the ongoing political efforts of a society, on a grand and global scale across different sovereign nations." He concluded, "that’s not diplomacy.”

Garrison is an army vet who graduated from Westpoint, and he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He went on to serve in multiple national security positions under President Obama, and consulted with the Hillary Clinton campaign on foreign policy.
