Garrison calls on Congress to provide oversight, says Americans are ready for "stable leadership"

By Jacqueline Isaacs

Bishop Garrison, co-founder and president of the Rainey Center, joined strategist Brian Darling, founder and president of Liberty Government Affairs, on MSNBC again for a conversation about Attorney General William Barr’s upcoming Congressional testimony on the Mueller Report. They also discussed President Trump’s accusations of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) favoring candidates for the 2020 presidential primaries.

Garrison called on Congress to do their job of oversight when it comes to Barr’s testimony, saying “it’s a part of their constitutional obligations to ensure that we see a thorough investigation based off of the Mueller Report, and that’s exactly what Congress is trying to get to the bottom of by interviewing the Attorney General.”

In regards to President Trump’s recent tweet that the DNC wants to “destroy” Sen. Bernie Sanders in favor of former vice president, Joe Biden, Garrison said, “it behooves the President to actually stop this, for the good of the American people and for the good of our political system.”

On the topic of the wide and varied field of 2020 presidential candidates, Garrison commented that “the American people are ready for change, they are ready for stable leadership, [and] they are ready for adults to once again truly be in the room.” He concluded by saying, “the Democrats want to have an opportunity to engage with these leaders.”
