Recently on CNN, Charles Moran, associate fellow for inclusive governance for the Rainey Center, discussed the Congressional testimony of President Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen.
When asked why more Republicans were not vocally supporting the President, Moran said, "I think it is smart that the Republicans didn't necessarily engage at this level, and defend President Trump, because in the next election cycle these Republicans are going to be defending theirselves, their votes, and the record that they have run on. For them, it's not about Donald Trump, it's about winning re-election. And this show-trial that went on in Washington, DC, is not going to help or hurt them."
